LMG Supports U2’s Vegas Pop-Up Show
Featuring New Single, “Atomic City”
When U2 took to the streets of Las Vegas for a last-minute mobile performance featuring their latest single, “Atomic City,” the LMG Show Technology and Touring team joined forces to ensure an unforgettable experience. LMG provided an audio package, including the L-Acoustics K2/SB28 sound system, Shure Axient Digital and PSM1000 wireless equipment, a Digico SD9 Console, and a Band mic package. LMG’s team guaranteed sound quality for both the band and crowd of bystanders. Despite the last-minute nature of the event, the team was able to organize a system and crew that addressed the needs for a quick, yet high-end deployment.
To achieve the live show aspect of the video shoot, LMG provided a solution using Shure’s Point to Point (P2P) mode, allowing the team to receive the signal from the moving truck wirelessly and run cables to it during the first song after the band was stationary. The deployment of this P2P solution allowed for a smooth transition, enabling U2 to stay completely mobile throughout their performance on Fremont Street where they once filmed their 1987 music video for “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”
The U2 Audio team expressed their gratitude, stating,
“Thank you again for your support last night; we couldn’t have done it without your team.”
U2’s performance of “Atomic City” was a preview of what promises to be an unforgettable residency, “U2: UV Achtung Baby Live At The Sphere” and is set to kick off on September 29.
